Shiny helmets and orange jackets for Malmo, ridiculous journeys addressed.

There is more than one way to encourage folk out of their cars and into the open air, a bicycle can help that happen, and this is Malmo’s idea of how to make/help more folk leave the car at home for journeys of 3 miles or less.

    • It takes a lot of agreement to move forward and a lot of intelligence to devise and impliment this type of scheme.
I am sure the feeling on the street is diluted somewhat but the use of image and colour to push the concept forward is genius. Typical of the swedes to have such good design behind such an innovative and visible project.

  1. I agree completely. haha. In most of the US, the car is absolutely #1. It’s really sad. Even in our rural area, the library, 2 grocery stores, video store, churches, a few restaurants, nursery, schools and parks are easily within a 5 kilometer radius. It’s all cars, all the time. Most of the above mentioned places, except for the library, don’t even have bike racks. Money for infrastructure that isn’t designed for cars is non existent in most of the US.
